Amruthadhara goushala, a sanctuary for indigenous cows, bulls and calves is located in Hosad village of Kumta taluk. It was established in 2006 and is managed by Dharma Chakra trust. It aims at providing feed and shelter to stray, abandoned and confiscated cattle. It has already sheltered 192 cattle and is willing to accommodate many more with the support of kind hearted sponsor's and philanthropists.
