Sri Kamadhenu Gosamrakshana Kendra was founded by Sri Vishwoththma Theertha Swamiji of Sri Sode Vadiraj Mutt, Udupi in 1998 as an initial step and now being continued by present Swamiji Vishwa Vallabha Theertha Swamiji of Sri Sode Vadiraj Mutt, Udupi under the aegis of “ Sri Kamadhenu Gosamrakshana trust, Hoovinakere, Asodu village, Kundapura Taluk. The trust is constituted with the objectives of overall development of cattle, protecting and taking care of abandoned cattle, with the co-operation of governmental and non-governmental organisations and generous donors. The trust has a cattle shelter by name “ Sri Kamadhenu Gosamrakshana Kendra ” at Hoovinakere, Asodu village of Kundapur taluk in a sprawling landscape belonging to Sri Mutt. The present Goshaala provides shelter, necessary care and nourishment for the cattle adopted from distressed farmers as well as abandoned and stray cattle. Since the maintenance of these cattle incur heavy expenditure by way of infrastructure, feed and fodder, health care, staff wages, etc. the trust accepts donations from donors, N.G.Os and also looking forward to government organisations for needy funds. We are at present taking care of more than 300 animals.
